Floating Home Season is Winding Down
People have discovered the wonderful world of floating homes! Where else can you live ‘on’ the water with your boat docked at your front door, fishing from the docks and also be so close to town, shopping and all that Portland has to offer!! This season was really busy with floating home sales, and prices are still low from the economic down turn of the last couple of years….BUT, heading up!
The downtown moorages reached a new high in sales price for Portland Floating Homes. The inventory is low in the Gresham moorages up river above the 205 bridge, but the homes that are for sale are beautiful. Hayden Island and Bridgeton moorages have sold quickly but there are still some great buys to be had in some really good moorages. If your monthly fee must be low, check out the listings in Tomahawk Moorage, a great choice for the sailing community. If being located on the mainland for commute purposes, check out the quaint Bridgeton moorages. If garages are your thing, take a look at the homes in West Hayden Moorage, Class Harbor or Channel Island Moorage. And if wild life viewing from a kayak is what you are looking for, meander through the moorages on the Multnomah Channel.
Floating homes are increasing in popularity among people who want a cool second home very close to their primary residence. Don’t be fooled into the idea that floating homes are only fun in the summer; they are wonderful escapes for winter storm watching. Call me if you want to take a look at some great prospects that are for sale right now!!
